Just finished my two pieces for the Hibbleton All-Star Show this friday June 4th 7-11. I wasn’t able to invest the time i had hoped into my second piece, and created just a little something so I could submit 2 prints. I hope people like them! For more info on the show’s opening and the Fullerton Art Walk visit www.hibbleton.com
This first piece is titled “Amanda and the Panda-gram“. I found this gorgeous image from my fellow Blogger at Second Skin (see link) and was sure I wanted to use her fashion pic as a reference for my central image. From there I incorporated my favorite little boy//girl pandas. The words above them read, Love, Black, White. This piece is sort of a statement on how love is color-blind, maybe even species-blind, and we should be messengers of love to or for one another.
My second piece is sort of an ethereal mood piece. It doesn’t carry as strong of a message, but I think it’s a little more visually stimulating. I incorporated my original character “Boom Boom” into the girl’s hair and necklace accessories. The characters on the right read “Chasing Dreams“. I won’t lie that I dream about pandas…perhaps a little too often, they’re just SOOO cute!
